“Although I am both a qualified Audiologist and Speech Therapist, I deregistered as a Speech Therapist 18 years ago to specialise and pursue my passion as an Audiologist. I am also registered with SAAA – South African Association of Audiologists. I have over 25 years experience accumulated from Baragwaneth Hospital, Rand Mutual Hospital, De Beers and 18 years in private practice.
Although the fundamental purpose of my work is to assess and treat hearing loss – my true passion lies in getting people connected both back into the world they live in, and to others. When clients tell how they can watch movies again, play music again, have long conversations with their grandchildren over the telephone or Skype, when couples talk to each other again, eat out in a restaurant with friends again – it gives me such joy to know that I’ve been a part of that and that I’ve made a difference to someone – I’ve added quality to someone’s life on a daily basis! That’s what I love about my job!”
“I received my degree from the University of Pretoria in 2012. I am registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and I am a member of the South African Speech, Language and Hearing Association (SASLHA). I have accumulated working experience in government, private, and corporate sectors. I have also had the privilege of working for one of the world’s leading hearing aid manufacturers where I was trained in the latest ground breaking hearing care technology. Audiology was my career of choice because, for me, it represents the perfect symbiosis between my desire to impact the lives of those with hearing loss and my keen interest in technology.
I firmly believe that our purpose on earth is to live and enjoy life to its fullest potential, and so my purpose as an audiologist, is to make this possible for all the clients I serve. Nothing beats seeing a client’s eyes light up as soon as their hearing aids are switched on.”
